Exclusive Alan Paine SS13 Images

Managing Director James Hinton explains the English knitwear brand’s business philosophy, inspiration sources and what revolutionary fabrics they’ve used for SS13

The inspiration behind Spring Summer was to create easy styling with comfort and colour. A collection that one, hopefully, could wear in on those balmy days with the Clima control and, for those chilly ‘pint in the beer garden’ evenings, upgraded to Cotton Cashmere. Our CC blend is a combination of 92% Pima cotton and 8% Mongolian cashmere, making it the best damn sweater you can buy this Spring.

The Clima control is unique to Alan Paine. We’re the only company producing this in knitwear. The specially formulated Clima fibre is made from natural fibres of renewable raw materials and keeps the body cool by working with your core body temperature and reacting accordingly to keep you cool even on the warmest days. This is achieved with natural paraffin in the fibre to maintain a constant temperature and thermal regulating features to minimise heat fluctuations between the fabric and the body.

The limited edition Cricket sweater combines our authentic heritage by promoting the fact that in 1953 we made the sweaters for the England cricket team, and have replicated this sweater stitch for stitch including the crown and three lions jumper – all with the England Cricket Board’s backing. Alan Paine is all about evolutionary styling, not revolutionary fashion. We focus on the original foundations of the business, quality comes foremost for the brand.
