Alfred Dunhill: For the Love

The classic tailoring brand profiles Sam Waley-Cohen, the first amateur jockey to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 30 years

Alfred Dunhill’s Portraits of Achievement series has always been about highlighting excellence and pinpointing talent. The featured actors, architects, athletes and artists perfectly fit in with dunhill’s idea of perfection and style. Nowhere is that as obvious as in For the Love, a half an hour long film made by dunhill about Sam Waley-Cohen, the first amateur jockey for 30 years to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup — in record time as well.Waley-Cohen won the legendary race on his father’s horse, Long Run. As an amateur jockey, horse riding is a hobby for Waley-Cohen, not something done for money; it’s truly a labour of love, and you can tell. “Not fulfilling potential is the greatest crime there is,” the 30-year-old jockey says about his approach to life. The film premieres on Channel 4 in the UK tomorrow, but today we show you these exclusive stills from the film as a preview teaser.

For the Love airs 9am, Saturday 24 November on Channel 4
