Luca Campri visits Angela Missoni backstage as she prepares her latest collection, inspired by “cosmopolitan surfers”
Though known for zig zag knitwear, Missoni – under the creative leadership of Angela Missoni – is about much more than a singular type of garment construction. These days, and especially in the last few seasons, the Italian brand started by Ottavio and Rosita, Angela’s parents, in 1953, is a bonafide luxury lifestyle brand. Like many of its great Italian contemporaries, it’s an atmosphere, as opposed to a particular garment or style, that defines the brand. There’s often a sense of a casual bohemian nonchalance in Missoni’s collection. And SS15 was no exception. Based on a cosmopolitan surfer travelling along south European towards the north African beaches, Missoni perfectly captures the elegant yet comfortable style of a man on the road…
