Persol, the Italian luxury eyewear company, is famous for its sleek aesthetic and unquestionable style credentials: all over the world people are hiding behind their frames. The name, derived from the Italian ‘per il sole’ which translates to ‘for the sun’, indicates a sunglasses focus, but Persol is producing equally elegant prescription frames.Formed in 1917, the company has seen various trends come and go, but always stayed true to its timeless ethos. For SS14, Persol has looked towards the Film Noir genre for inspiration, and today Port premieres a short clip highlighting the classic Phoenix Arrow style. With the inclusion of a gangster, the ‘Femme Fatale’, a reporter and the detective, the clip tells the story of 1950s style through the eyes of Persol.
