Cerruti 1881 SS15 Photo Essay

Chantelle Dosser looks closer at Aldo Maria Camillo’s subtle and sleek summer collection, inspired by a trip to the surf-obssesed US West Coast

Just as the floor was patched together by fine mats, so was the Cerruti 1881 SS15 collation a combination of different lengths and weights; a sartorial jigsaw, if you like, of classic Cerruti tailoring mixed with casual and contemporary sportswear. Long wafer thin coats were layered over fine silk shirts in bright colours and prints.

Inspired by a trip to the US West Coast, this mixture could have come across as a collection with dual personalities, but instead it showed eclectic diversity and a real understanding of what men want to wear today. Subtle colours mixed with a few shots of louder ones, combined with a healthy dose of statement checks amid sleek and natural tailoring made it a stellar Cerruti 1881 collection.
