Mixology: The First Word

With over 18 year experience working within the drinks industry as an ex-bartending mixologist, Alex Kammerling has built his reputation on possessing good taste

Alex’s been writing about cocktails since the mid 1990s, and published his book Blend Me, Shake me back in 2004. Combined with a decade running his own drinks consultancy business, working with leading brands such as Courvoisier, Campari, Grey Goose and Martin Millers, Alex launched his own spirit Kamm & Sons last year. Inspired by the traditional use of alcohol within medicine, Alex spent five years developing the recipe for Kamm & Sons, a spirit containing over 45 hand-selected botanical ingredients, (as well as ginseng, fresh grapefruit peel, manuka honey, juniper and goji berries to name but a few ingredients).

Alex will be writing a weekly recipe column for PORT, starting with this week’s cocktail The First Word.
