Port Magazine 12: Out 12 December

Editor-in-chief Dan Crowe takes us inside the new issue, featuring Chiwetel Edjiofor as our winter cover star

This issue, our 12th, has been a wonderful issue to work on. From the fascinating story of our new leading man, Chiwetel Ejiofor, to the ludicrous, and very funny, list of likes and dislikes by a certain anchorman named Ron Burgundy, there’s something for everyone. I like the fact that there are luxurious features, such as the photoshoot of Olympic gold medal-winning ice skater Evan Lysacek, in the same issue as a powerful and, to be honest, really quite terrifying look at the war on cancer. We try and curate a diverse collection of stories in every issue, an attempt, I suppose, to reflect the world we live in, to incorporate a wide array of influences, and this issue has achieved that.

There’s a horology special, a Port crossword, a long-form photo story on Afghanistan, a look at the future of retail, a diagrammatic explanation of the corruption within football transfer dealing and some very confrontational portraits by Raphael. A wide array indeed!

Have a glorious Christmas.
